Finding Inspiration in “How are you Really?” Let’s Lift Each Other Up!
Today, I wanted to open up and share a recent experience I had that made a significant impact on me.
Like anyone else, I have my fair share of bad days and challenging weeks, and lately, the real estate industry has been particularly tough for all of us. Agents, brokers, and service providers alike, we’ve all been feeling the pressure. Even with my 20 years of experience, I couldn’t escape the feeling of being in a funk, as if the days were piling up against me.
However, I don’t want to dwell on the negativity or indulge in a pity party because that’s just not who I am. Instead, I want to share what I did to overcome this rough patch.
First and foremost, I reached out to a friend I trust. I confided in her about how I was feeling and the challenges I was facing. Being in the real estate field herself, she understood my situation, and we decided to support each other through a Zoom call. It was incredible to have someone who genuinely understood and empathized with my struggles.
During our conversation, she suggested something that resonated deeply with me. She asked if I had any motivational books that I hadn’t read in a while or perhaps started but never finished. She recommended I pick up one of those books and read a few chapters to reinvigorate myself.
So, that’s exactly what I did.
I reached for my Kindle and searched for the first book that caught my eye: “How are you Really?” by Jenna Kutcher. As I started reading, I realized that I had actually started this book a long time ago but never got around to finishing it. (I must confess, I have a habit of being a professional “partial” book reader!) However, this time, something clicked.
I understand that these thoughts may appear random and not entirely coherent, but they have provided me comfort and inner peace. It’s important to acknowledge that it’s perfectly fine to question ourselves and inquire about our true well-being. Additionally, we can rely on our closest companions for support during these times.
So, let me ask you, “How are you really?” I believe the initial step is to engage in genuine self-reflection and honestly acknowledge our emotions, and subsequently share them with someone else.
We’re facing challenging times, but what I do know is that you have the strength to overcome this. And remember, it’s absolutely acceptable to seek assistance if you’re struggling.
**By the way, I highly recommend purchasing this book immediately!
